THE AMAZON OF THE 3 BORDERS

Leticia is the southernmost city of Colombia, lost in the heart of the Amazon. Bordering Peru and Brazil, this small port is the essential starting point for a jungle excursion.

The Amazon rainforest is mythical and its name is enough to evoke images of adventure and magic. A true reservoir of biodiversity, the forest delights visitors with its multitude of insects, animals and plants.

Located in the municipality of Leticia near the border with Peru, La Isla de los Micos is an island of approximately 450 hectares. In the 1960s, the American Mike Tsalikys established a station there to breed monkeys and other living things.

Today the island has become a tourist attraction. Leticia offers boat trips lasting approximately one hour. There are several thousand monkeys on the island, mostly squirrel monkeys (see photo below).

Also sail on the Amazon River ...

On the agenda: observation of multicolored birds, Amazon dolphins, butterfly eagles or even visits to small authentic Amazonian villages. A good time to meet and discover, but above all an exotic and memorable experience!
